Vertical antenna consists of 3 folds. First two folds are made up of ladder line running 25 feet up the pine tree for a total of 50 feet. Second fold is a single bare copper wire having a loading coil at the bottom and the top. All three are used for 40, 75, and 160 meters. The first two folds for 10, 15, and 20 meters. The fence is my ground plane and is grounded at several points.Note: Ladder line running from top of shack to folded dipole. The folded dipole is made of 100 feet of ladder line with the two conductors connected together at both ends. Both conductors are cut in the middle with one set connected to the feed line. Therefore the total length of the antenna is 200 ft. I am considering adding another fold back toward the ends for about 40 feet each to lower the SWR on 160 meters. |
